## How we got here

- **2017** - Matious founded in Morocco. Two engineers, one vision: build technology that matters.
- **2018** - First international clients. US and European startups trust Matious to build their core platforms.
- **2020** - Pivoted to AI. While others talked about machine learning, we shipped it. First RAG systems and ML pipelines delivered to production.
- **2022** - Team Extension model born. Clients stopped asking for projects. They asked for our engineers full-time.
- **2024** - AI-first company. 14 AI platforms shipped across 4 continents. Multi-agent systems, LLMs, and agentic workflows become our core.
- **2026** - Today. 100+ projects. 9 years. Still building.

## The people behind it

**Mati Mouni, CEO.** Mati has led Matious since founding it in 2017, bringing
over a decade of expertise in digital transformation, strategic operations, and
product development. Trained at Al Akhawayn University in Software Engineering,
he has guided Matious from a two-person studio to an AI engineering company
trusted by clients across 4 continents. He oversees business strategy, client
relationships, and company vision.

**Youssef Boussafa, CTO.** Youssef is the technical brain behind Matious. With
deep expertise in full-stack engineering, AI systems, and platform architecture,
he has led the technical delivery of 100+ projects since 2017. His hands-on
approach and obsession with code quality have made Matious a trusted technical
partner for startups and established companies alike.

The wider team is senior engineers, AI specialists, and product builders, all
based in Morocco and working globally.
